Penalties for Late Payment of Benefits

One thing your employer and the insurance company will not tell you is there are timelines to pay benefits and there are different time delays for different types of benefits.  If the benefit is not paid within the time frame and there is no reasonable basis for not paying you could be owed up to $2,000 for failing to do so.

Under our current laws, it is increasingly difficult to get an award for penalties, but we will pursue them vigorously if needed to put as much pressure on the insurance company as we can.
